Prayer Time

After that one person will say the sign of the cross to finish off the prayer time for the day. When all the Room 3 students are settled down at their home tables the two people who organized the prayer time clear the prayer set off the ground. We are finally finished then me and my partner sit down on our home tables and get on with our work.

Prayer Time

The candles were lit, the cloth was out, and the prayers were all set out nicely... We were all ready to start. In the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, Room 3 started. The leaders both said a prayer each that someone in Room 3 had written and decorated beautifully.

One of the leaders then asked, “ Can we please say the Our Father.” So everybody prayed together. After that we had a quiet time to just reflect on the last week and think about how we can improve in this week. I feel really calm at that time of the day and for the whole of Prayer Time.

Soon after we have reflected and thought of how we can improve it is time to end our prayer time. In the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. One of the leaders blows out the candles. While everyone else gets settled for the day the leaders move the Prayer things back to the Prayer table.

The First 3 Weeks.

In the last few weeks Room 3 has been learning how to post their work onto their own blogs. Also we have been learning how to comment on other peoples blogs. For the last few weeks we have been learning about Charism for R.E. In maths we have been learning about stem and leaf graphs. On the first day of school all of Room 3 students coloured in our school emblem to put up on the R.E wall.

Diggity

I knelt beside/ next to Diggity.  He made no effort/ work to get up.  His neck was a pulpy mass/ body of matter of blood, and his rib cage rose and fell unevenly/ raggedly.  Dad scooped/ dig up him into his arms and staggered/ walk falteringly up the beach.  Mum and Lucy were already in the car with the hatch/ Boot up and engine running.  The vet said Diggity had lost heaps/ pile of blood.  The outlook/ point of view wasn’t good.  When the phone rang/ encircle later that evening, nobody was in a hurry to answer/ reply.  But Diggity did survive.

Peculiar Person

I’m a most peculiar person,
As almost everyone knows.
I’ve a crown on the top of my head,
And nails grow out of my toes.

I’ve eardrums that help me hear.
And eyeballs that help me see,
And there’s even a mole on the tip of my nose,
Yes, there’s nobody quite like me.

I’ve got ‘mussels’ that grow in my arms and my legs,
And shoulder blades on my back.
I’ve a rib-cage to hold my heart in -
There’s really not much that I lack.

There’s a button that does up my tummy,
And my funny-bone keeps me amused.
When I look at myself in the mirror,
It’s no wonder I feel confused.

I’m a most unusual person,
And even my doctor agrees,
For that’s what he said when he came to examine
The caps that I have on my knees.

And I sometimes get pins and needles,
When it’s raining cats and dogs,
But what else could you really expect,
From a person whole throat’s full of frogs!

Netbook Rollout

On Thursday 2nd of February Room 3 students got to go on our netbooks.

First we had to listen to Miss G about the rules of looking after our netbooks. We had to get our netbook out of its box then we opened our lids and we had a look at it. We all had to take the sticky protecter off the netbook. After that we had to turn it on and we logged in our netbook for the first time. I played a cool game called Tux typing with my best friend’s. We had to go to Miss G and tell her our Serial Number so she knew which netbook we had.

I was so happy I got to see my netbook because I nearly died at school as I was so excited.

Charism

This week we have been looking at the school Charism. Our school emblem represents Faith, land, sun and water. Margraret Alyward started the Holy Faith sisters. The Holy Faith sisters started our school in 1958.
