X Country

On Friday 24th August Saint Pius X Catholic school were participating in the 2012 X Country. Students were racing and the teachers were holding flags to the direction we have to go too. Also the parents were cheering and clapping for their kids and the students that they know.

When we were in the courts waiting for our turn we saw people as they were sitting in their ages in the court. We raced boys then girls and people came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th. People who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd got a certificate.

We were running and we were all sweaty and tired of running, people were even hungry and thirsty and we wanted to eat and drink. Teachers were around the course holding flags, so as we went past the teachers they showed us the way like left, right, straight or across the road. Our principal Mr Coakley ran around the course 2 times because he had to check if there was any more children still running around the course. If there was still some more children he will be telling them to hold onto the rope because they were the last ones and we don't want them to be lost and they might go on the wrong track and there won't be teachers there anymore to see.

Parents were watching us as we were at the starting line beginning our race. They were cheering with excitement, and jumping up and down all happy. Some of Saint Pius children were getting a pain in their stomach, it was the stitch, ooh noo.

It was finally the end of the day and everyone was slowly going home, but first the parents had to come and get them instead of us walking to the car. I went home and I was feeling very exhausted and tired from all the running we had to do.

Apple Description

Red, Green apples are very fresh and delicious and I always love to eat it for fruit at home or anywhere.

Apples are round like a tennis balls and they have a little stick on top that is brown. It sounds like a crunchy sound and the apples smell fresh and brand new it’s like you are up in Heaven when you smell them. The apples feel like a hard round ball and it is easy to hold. It also feels small as a moon. It tastes juicy and delicious in my mouth, it is so yummy, sweet and sour.

The apples are seen at any places like Supermarkets, Pak N’ save, fruit shops and even at school for fruits. The apples are on trees and everywhere else.

Apple are used for dessert and cooking with, you can make toffee apples too. The apples are special because it was my favourite fruit when I was born into this country, NZ.

Fraction - Week 5

A fraction is when you share a pie amoungst each other.

My favourite thing about Fractions is that I get to make a Whole half and quarters.

In a fraction there is a Denominator and a Numerator.

What I know about fractions is that you have to share it even to the person you are giving it too.

Olympic Torch Description

The Olympics Ceremony has started and as every team entered they carried 1 petal for the olympics torch. It shone brightly around where the Olympians were taking hold at.

The torch is special because it was started at the opening ceremony at the Olympics. The people that were doing the Olympics brought 1 petal each to the ceremony when they entered the stadium.

The Olympics Torch is very bright and shiny when you first see it. It is amazing and it has a lot of grouped petals that the Olympian’s brought in.

The Petals are for the Olympic torch, it was golden and beautiful in fact people stared at the torch when it was lit up.

The Olympic Torch is lit up for the Olympic games. The Torch is lit because when the torch is put out that means that the Olympic Games are finished and when it is still on it means the games is still going.

The Olympic Torch is seen in the Olympic Opening Ceremony where all the people can see that the Olympics are going to start.

Netbook Description

My Netbook is very special to me.

My Netbook is carried in a bag and it stays in my room and is traveled in the car to school and back to home. It is sometimes heavy when you put it in your bag and then you put it in your school bag. It comes to school everyday and goes home weekdays except Fridays because we are not allowed to take it home in the weekends because it might come home damaged. My netbook doesn't make noise unless I put the sound on and if I keep the sound off it won't make noise. My netbook feels rough down the bottom and smooth on the top.

My Netbook is kept in the classroom where I can see it, It Can be in my tote tray. It can also be kept on a COMPUTER In WHEELS. During the day when we take it home it is kept locked in my cupboard where no one knows where it is all though some people know.

My netbook helps me to do my learning with. It also keeps my work safe on my netbook so it doesn't get lost, if it was in a paper it will be lost for sure and you will complain when you have to start again.

I use my netbook with respect and use it carefully. Also I use my netbook as a learning tool, my triple e pc has Internet on it so I can do my work. My mini netbook is treated with cybersmart.

We are some of the first people in New Zealand to use netbooks for our learning.

My netbook has internet on it so I can keep in touch with my teacher and share my work to her on the dashboard. We are so happy to have our own netbook to learn on it.
